Welcome to my website

Painting and drawing have been compulsive activities for me since I was a child. I enjoy analysing the world around me, and then expressing my interpretations in my own style; a style that conveys both boldness and clarity. From the first stab of a loaded brush on canvas, or the first sweep of charcoal or graphite across paper, I begin to connect with the object or person in front of me. I work from observation and my subject matter is broad. Landscape, portrait, still life: each genre presents an opportunity for me to reach a deeper understanding of my subject and reveal a truth about it that I hope the audience can connect with.

I studied full time at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, a leading independent art school, successfully completing a diploma in portraiture (with a portfolio that was highly commended by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters) and a one-year post diploma portraiture course. I now work full time from a studio in South East London.

On this website you will find examples of my recent work, which I hope you enjoy. Please contact me if any of these paintings are of interest to you, or if you would like to discuss a portrait commission.
